Throughout the entirety of the year we've heard and read quite a few reports concerning Samsung and its faulty batteries. On short, there have been a few, isolated cases where Galaxy S units have caught fire and even exploded, due to faulty batteries. While most of these cases have been linked with the usage of unofficial 3rd party batteries and / or chargers, these events haven't really helped Samsung's image. Besides, there have been reports of Galaxy S4 batteries swelling, and the Korean manufacturer has promised a replacement.

Interestingly enough, Apple is now in a similar situation. While there are no reports of battery swelling (that would be a bit difficult given the fact that Apple smartphones deliver a unibody design), there have been quite a lot of reports from unhappy iPhone 5s owners who claim that they are experiencing battery issues. Don't worry; it's not anything as bad as back in 2006, when Apple was forced to recall some of its laptops due to faulty batteries that exploded.

On short, the issue at hand is that some iPhone 5s owners seem to experience battery life issues on their device. It also seems that these affected models are taking a very long time to be fully charged.

In response, Apple spokeswoman Teresa Brewer has recently stated that the company in question will replace these faulty units. Although the Cupertino giant hasn't been eager to disclose tot number of affected iPhone 5s owners, it appears that there are thousands of people who are dealing with these issues.

It's also interesting to note that certain iPhone users have complained about battery life issues after applying the iOS 7 update, but Apple hasn't commented on that just yet.

As a quick reminder, Apple promises the iPhone 5s and 5c to deliver 250 hours of standby time, 10 hours of video playback, 40 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of 3G talk. In case you're experiencing much lower values than these, then you might want to head down to your local Apple store and see if they can sort you out with a new unit.

Are any of our readers experiencing low battery life on their iPhone 5s devices, or any other iPhone after the iOS 7 update?
