Great news for everyone who happens to own the Samsung Galaxy Express at AT&T, as the carrier in question has recently announced that the highly anticipated Android 4.1 update went live and is being rolled-out over-the-air.

Indeed, the update is now available for download, so assuming that you haven't received the notification on your Express just yet, then head down to Settings > About Device > Software update and hit "Check for updates". Don't forget that in order to be able and download the new OS, you'll need to connect your handset to a Wi-Fi network. If the update is still nowhere to be found, then be patient and wait for your "turn". OTA updates are usually deployed "in phases", which means that not every unit out there is being made eligible for the new OS at the same time.

So what might you expect from Android 4.1 on the Express? The changelog published by AT&T isn't very detailed but it does mention the addition of Google Now, certain performance enhancements thanks to the implementation of Project Butter, and last but not least, Blocking Mode has also been added, enabling you to turn off calls, notifications, alarms etc. for a user-designated period of time.

Has anyone received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on their Samsung Galaxy Express? Are you thinking about buying one now that it rocks Jelly Bean, and wish to learn more?

The Galaxy Express is one of Samsung's many mid-range smartphones and it has been on sale since November 2012. It arrived with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and packs a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 480 x 800, a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon dual-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 225 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage out of which 5 GB are available to the user, a microSD card slot that enables you to expand storage capacity by up to 32 GB, a 5 MP camera on the back coupled with a 1.3 MP front-facing sensor and a 2,000 mAh battery that provides up to 312 hours of stand-by and up to 14 hours of talk time.
