Cell Phone Reviews

Left, Xperia ion - Right Xperia S

Sony announced two Xperia phones at CES this year; the Ion & S. The Ion is Sony's first LTE phone and will be headed exclusively to AT&T's LTE network. The S is HSPA+ so it may be offered as the cheaper Xperia if it does come to the states. Besides the antenna, screen size, and aesthetics the specs are the same. There is no word on release dates of either, but we can probably expect them in Q2 2012.

One of the stand out features is the fast 12mp camera on both phones. You can bring up the camera application and take a pic within a couple seconds! Pretty impressive.

  • Android 2.3.5 (will probably be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • 4.6" (1280x720) 720p HD display (Xperia S is a 4.3", same resolution)
  • 1.5GHZ dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB internal memory
  • 12mp camera
  • 1.3mp front camera
  • 1080p HD video
  • HDMI output
