Assuming that you've been up to date with the more recent events on the mobile scene, then you should already be somewhat familiar with the LG G Flex. The handset in question has been rumored and leaked on numerous occasions before, and as we all know, the G Flex's biggest selling point seemed to be its curved display, making it a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Round. Needless to say, the gadget is now official, so let's take a look at what we can expect.

In terms of specifications, the G Flex boasts 6 inch P-OLED display that is curved on the horizontal axis. This design cue is said to offer an IMAX-like experience while watching movies, but the somewhat disappointing news is that the display features a resolution of 720 x 1280. This results in a rather underwhelming (at least for a flagship smartphone) pixel density of 245 pixels per inch.

Aside from that, the G Flex is being powered by a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.26 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics chip and 2 GB of RAM. There are 32 GB of internal storage on-board, with no possibility of expanding. On the back panel resides a 13 MP main camera boasting an LED flash, HDR and autofocus, complemented by a 2.1 MP front-facing sensor. The entire package is being powered by a non-removable Li-Po 3,500 mAh battery.

A few other interesting features consist in the back-mounted volume buttons a la LG G2, Dolby mobile sound enhancement, and various software features such as Guest Mode, Plug & Pop, KnockOn, Dual Window, Swing Lockscreen, Q Theater and more.

Last but not least, LG claims that the back panel of the device has been treated with a self-healing coating, which will supposedly automatically fill small scratches in the "paint" finish.

So far, the LG G Flex has been announced only in Korea, but we're expecting LG to release the G Flex in various other western markets as well. Whether or not the same hardware specifications will remain the same on the international variant remains to be seen. Details about pricing are also going to be unveiled at a later date.

So what's your take on the LG G Flex? Would you be interested in buying this particular gadget? Feel free to leave a comment below.
