Two Sony Android smartphones were recently announced at the MWC 2012 in Barcelona, the Sony Xperia P and the Sony Xperia U. They are both similar somewhat to the Xperia S, due to the design and that they run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is upgradeable to Android 4.0 ICS later on.

The first handset shown is the Xperia P, which is slightly bigger than the Xperia U. Features of the Xperia P include: a full aluminium unibody design, a 4 inch qHD (960 x 540) Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine, 1GB of RAM, HSPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, 8MP camera in the rear with 1080p video recording, VGA camera in the front, 16GB of internal memory and a new WhiteMagic technology, to give you “brightest viewing experience”.

Features of the next Android smartphone pictured, the Sony Xperia U, include: a 3.5 inch FWVGA (854 x 480) Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine, 1.0GHz dual-core CPU, and 512MB of RAM, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 5MP rear camera with 720p video recording, VGA front-facing camera, and 8GB of internal memory.

You will have several color options when both the Xperia P and Xperia U launch, which will be in the second quarter of this year. Silver, red and black are the color versions of the Xperia P while Xperia U will have color versions of black or white, which will have exchangeable caps in yellow and pink.
