It didn't take long for the
Sony Xperia S Android smartphone to begin "shipping globally". This news comes from Sony themselves, saying that it's "giving local operators the chance to tell you about specific availability and pricing in individual markets." Well, the Android smartphone may be hitting "globally", but that excludes the US.
The US will apparently not be getting the Sony Xperia S, but we will be getting AT&T's
Xperia ion. The Sony Xperia S will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which should be upgradeable to Android 4.0 ICS by the middle of this year.
