Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:
iTunes is a pretty complex tool, and offers a lot more than a way to listen to your favorite music. It can also sync your iPhone contacts with a Google account, allowing you to transfer them onto your Android device.
- Open iTunes on your computer (if you need to download the client, visit the official Apple website)
- Use the USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
- Click on your iPhone after it appears in iTunes
- Go to the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
- From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
- Enter your Google username and password if you haven't done this before. Otherwise, you can click "Configure" and choose a previously added account
- Click "Apply" iTunes will sync the contacts with the Google account
- On your Mate 2 4G, register the same Google account and allow it to sync contacts with your device. (If you need to add the account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")
Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:
iCloud allows you to export your iPhone contacts, as long as you have an account and you've used the service on your device before. To use this method:
- Visit www.icloud.com using your computer's Internet browser
- Log in to your iCloud account
- Click "Contacts" and from the list, select the contacts that you want to export
- Click the "Settings" icon (located in the lower-left side) and select "Export vCard"
- A VCF file containing your contacts will now be downloaded on your computer
- Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, connect your Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the "Contacts" app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "SD card". Select the account to where you wish to save the contacts, choose the VCF file and tap "OK"
Using the "My Contacts Backup" Application:
"My Contacts Backup" is an iOS application allowing you to back up your contacts in the form of a VCF file, which can then be used to import the contacts on your Android device. To do so:
- Visit the App Store on your iPhone and install "My Contacts Backup"
- Open the application and tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file with your iPhone contacts
- Tap "Email" to attach the VCF file to an email
- Enter your own Gmail address as the email's recipient, and send it
- Switch over to your Ascend Mate 2, and open the email
- Download the attached VCF file and import the contacts to your device via the "Contacts" app
Using the "Bump" Application:
"Bump" is an interesting app, in the fact that it allows you to transfer contacts through the cloud. You don't need access to a computer, any cables or a smartphone with Bluetooth or NFC. All you need is an active data connection on both smartphones and you're set to go.
- Install "Bump" on your iPhone from the App Store
- Visit the "Play Store" on your Huawei and download the same application
- Open the app on both smartphones and allow permissions when prompted
- On the iPhone, swipe to the "Contacts" section
- Mark the contacts that you want to share
- When the "Bump now!" label appears in the top-right corner, you can lightly bump your smartphones together
- If done correctly, a "Connect" button will pop-up on the screen of both smartphones
- Tap "Connect" and a copy of your iPhone contacts will be transferred to your Ascend Mate 2 via cloud
