Back Up and Restore Application Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Turn ON “Back up my data” to back up app data, passwords, and settings to your Google account
  5. To allow app data to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google account or when reinstalling apps, enable “Automatic Restore”

Back Up & Restore Contacts Using a Google Account:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the account you want to use for syncing contacts
  5. Ensure “Contacts” is checked and tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: You can restore contacts backed up on a Google account when you sign in with the account on the smartphone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the ZTE Grand X 4 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone and copy them
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the ZTE Grand X 4 to your computer through the USB port
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Locate the media backup files on the computer storage
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
