Net10 customer service is not in Mexico, although it might as well be. It's in South America, I do not know which country. Net10 is a subsiderary of TracPhone, which is based in Florida. I know because I had an awful time trying to port my number from T-Mobile to Net10. I have talked to service reps from both customer service lines, and they all outsourced to a South American country.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily hold that against them as it seems that big corporations are all farming out their customer service overseas. It's a hassle, no doubt, but it's becoming the nature of the beast. The customer service for my computer is apparently overseas because the line is always static-y and the person I speak to has a harsh accent that is often hard to cut through.

I'm thinking of switching from my current provider to net 10 - I've heard customer service horror stories from the big providers (cingular, verizon, nextel) so I think they are all, in one way or another, a bit of a pain to work problems out with.
