    Hi all,
After buying the original iPhone then upgrading to the 3GS, I grow more dissatisfied on a daily basis with AT&T's network. I've had several incidents where I'm next to a Verizon, US Cellular, or Sprint user when my network has barely 1 bar or says NO Service while everyone else's (no joke, no exaggeration) works just fine at full strength. Here are recent examples: November, Lambeau Field...could not complete a call or send a text despite my phone showing decent signal strength and then showing zero bars. The person I went the game with has US Cellular...never had a problem once, I even tried his phone. Forget surfing the web because google wouldn't even finish loading even in a strong 3G area. This also happened at two other sporting events at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Another example: a month ago, St. Vincent's Hospital, Green Bay, WI. I had no service inside the waiting room and throughout most of the hospital. My uncle, who is a Sprint user, had 5 full bars of service and had no problem surfing the web. This is just a couple of examples, there are many others.

I don't know about other AT&T iPhone users (or smartphone users in general) but I find that rather embarassing. I can't say I've had major problems with them overall but their data network is so grossly inconsistent every place I go and even on my short drive to work I get dropped calls from time to time.

So, it was no surprise reading the latest Consumer Reports review in which 60,000 cell phone costumers responded and AT&T was not only in dead last throughout the entire country, but their scores were significantly below their competitors in many aspects and locations.

My contract is up in August and I love my iPhone--which has been the only thing keeping me with AT&T. Once the iPhone 5 arrives (rumor has it September, but who knows) I'm seriously thinking of switching carriers. If the iPhone 5 dazzles me I thought of sticking with iPhone but switching to Verizon simply due to the 200+ apps I've invested in for my iPhone. I'm also thinking of ditching the amazing phone and switching to US Cellular too. Based on all research those seem the best two choices.

Anyone in the Waukesha/Mukwonago area have any thoughts in this? Thanks so much!

If it were me I would go with Verizon. Their coverage is unmatched and you won't be disappointed. The only downside is they are more expensive than us cellular.
