Transferring Contacts via Google Sync:
Using a Google account you can transfer the contacts from one Android phone to another by syncing them with the respective account. The process is simple, and requires you to first sync the contacts stored on your One X with the Google account, after which you can sync the contacts with the One Max
- Sign in with your Google account on the HTC One X
- While on the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down with two fingers
- Tap "Settings"
- Scroll to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & Sync"
- Tap "Google" and choose the desired account
- Tap "Menu" (from the top-right corner) and tap "Sync all". NOTE: to sync only the contacts, clear and mark the "Contacts" check box)
- Switch to the HTC One Max and register the account on it
- Launch the apps drawer and go to "Settings"
- Tap "Accounts & sync" and select the account and set it so that it can sync contacts with the Max
Transferring Contacts via "Import / Export":
Using the "People" app and the "Import / Export" function, you can export the contacts stored on the One X in the form of a vCard file. The file can then be transferred to the One Max either by email, or by connecting both smartphones to a computer.
- Open the "People" app on the HTC One X
- Go to the "People" tab
- Press "Menu" > "Manage contacts"
- Tap "Import / Export contacts"
- Tap "Export to phone storage" and then choose an account
- Make sure you record the backup file's name and tap "OK" in the confirmation window
- Launch your email application and compose a new email
- Attach the VCF file to the email, and send it to your own Gmail address
- Switch to the HTC One Max and open the email you've just sent
- Download the attached VCF file
- Open the "People" app, and tap "Menu" > "import / Export contacts"
- Tap "Import from phone storage" / "SD card" and select an account if necessary
- Load the file to the Max's phonebook
NOTE: once you have created the vCard file on the One X, you can transfer it to the Max using a computer by connecting both smartphones via USB, and manually transferring the file from one phone to the other.
Transferring Contacts using "Send Anywhere":
Another method of transfer is by using third party applications such as "Send Anywhere". This is an app that can transfer various types of files and contacts without the need of a computer, through a P2P connection. To use the app for contact transfer:
- Go to the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both smartphones
- Launch the app on both devices
- From the HTC One X, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
- Mark the contacts that you wish to transfer and tap "Send"
- Lastly, choose the desired method of transfer. You can tap "Receive" on the One Max and enter the transfer code from the One X, or you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the X in order to scan the resulting code with the One Max's camera and begin the transfer process
