Is HTC Touch HD worth it?

Sorry for my noob question: I want to buy the HTC Touch HD but here in my country it doesnt support 3G.
Is it worth it to spend close to $ 500 and not being able to use it with 3G? Am I losing a lot without it? Should I go instead for the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music instead?

Any advice is welcome.

Honestly, without 3g alot of the phones features are not worth the extra money
