Transferring Contacts Through iTunes:

iTunes is a very popular software, mainly for the fact that it's a great music player and a place to buy music digitally. Nevertheless, the application also allows you to sync your iPhone's contacts with an Android device. This method requires you to have a computer with Internet access and iTunes installed.

  1. On your computer, open iTunes
  2. Use the iPhone's USB connector to connect your device to the computer
  3. The iPhone should appear in iTunes. Click it to open the summary page
  4. Access the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  6. Click the drop-down menu and select "Google Contacts"
  7. Add your Google account if you haven't done so before. Otherwise, you can click "Configure" and choose an existing account
  8. Click "Apply" to begin the syncing process between your iPhone and Google account
  9. Once completed, register the same account on your Desire 300. To do so, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  10. Allow the account to sync contacts with your HTC smartphone

Transferring Contacts Through iCloud:

The iCloud backup service is a great tool that gives you the option to export contacts in the form of a vCard file. As long as you've used iCloud on your iPhone before, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. For this method you need a computer with Internet access.

  1. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ using your computer's Internet browser
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts"
  4. From the list of contacts, select those that you want to export
  5. Click the icon shaped like a cog wheel, located in the lower-left side of the window
  6. Select "Export vCard" and your computer will start downloading a VCF file
  7. From here, you have two options:
    • Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts", or:
    • Connect your Desire 300 to your PC via USB, and copy the vCard file to the "sdcard" directory. Next up, open the "People" app on your device, tap "Menu" > "Manage contacts" > "Import / Export contacts" > "Import from storage" / "Import from SD" and follow any additional steps that may be required, such as selecting an account and the desired vCard

Using Applications to Transfer Contacts

In case you don't have access to a computer, then you can use third party applications in order to transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Desire 300. Below you will find two popular apps and how to use them.

Transferring Contacts Using "My Contacts Backup":

My Contacts Backup is capable of transferring contacts from your iPhone via email, in the form of a vCard file. To use this method of transfer:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application
  3. Tap "Backup" and a VCF file containing your contacts will be created
  4. Tap "Email" once the file is created, to attach it to a email
  5. Send the email to your Gmail account
  6. On the Desire 300, open the email and download the file attachment
  7. Import the contacts through the "People" app, using the "Import / Export" feature

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Send Anywhere is a great application allowing you to easily transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Desire 300 using P2P transfer.

  1. Download the app on the Desire 300 from the Play Store
  2. Install Send Anywhere on the iPhone from the App Store
  3. Launch the app on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send"
  5. Select "Contacts" and choose the desired contacts
  6. When ready, tap "Send"
  7. Select a method of transfer, such as tapping "Generate QR Code" and use the Desire 300's camera to scan the code. You can also enter the generated code on the Desire 300 after tapping "Receive", and get the contacts on your Android device
