Turn On Power Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Power under Personal
- Tap Power saver
- Check the boxes associated with the power saving features you want to enable
- When ready, tap the Power saver switch to enable the option
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the Settings menu
- Under Phone, tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease brightness
- Return to Display & Gestures
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower timeout value, like 15 seconds
Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:
NOTE: By changing your accounts settings to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Access the Settings menu
- Scroll to, and tpa Accounts & Sync
- Select an app to disable background sync
- For additional sync options, tap an account type and select an account
Disable Connectivity When Unused:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS when these features are unused, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:
- Open the Settings menu
- Tap the switches associated with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to turn off these features
- Tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile hotspot
- Return to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving
Temporarily Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a battery bank or a wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G.
- Access the Settings menu
- Tap Mobile data
- Tap Network mode and select GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Under Phone, tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab and select the desired app
- Tap Disable to turn the app off
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Up to Date:
NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements, so its recommended to keep your phone up to date at all times. To check for new updates:
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap About
- Tap Software information
- Tap Check now and, if necessary, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the available update(s)
