Turn On Power Saver Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Power”
  4. Tap “Power saver”
  5. Check the boxes associated with the power saver options you want to enable during Power Saver Mode
  6. Tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the feature

Reduce Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Display & Gestures”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. If necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  6. Return to “Display & Gestures” and tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to, and tap “Accounts & Sync”
  3. Select an app to disable background sync
  4. For additional sync options, tap an account type and select an account

Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS while not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” switches to disable these options
  3. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  4. Tap “Mobile network sharing”
  5. Disable “Mobile Hotspot” and return to “Settings”
  6. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Location” (GPS)
  7. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”

Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you want to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G networks. To do this:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Mobile data”
  3. Tap “Network mode”
  4. Enable “GSM only”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery performance even when they are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Phone” and tap “Apps”
  4. Access “Downloaded”
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Disable”
  6. Alternatively, to remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep your phone’s OS updated. To check if new updates are available:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Phone”
  2. Tap “About”
  3. Tap “Software information”
  4. Press “Check now” and, if applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply available updates
