Turn On Power Saver Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Power
- Tap Power saver
- Check the boxes associated with the power saver options you want to enable during Power Saver Mode
- Tap the Power saver switch to enable the feature
Reduce Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Return to Display & Gestures and tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower timeout value like 15 seconds
Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to, and tap Accounts & Sync
- Select an app to disable background sync
- For additional sync options, tap an account type and select an account
Disable Unused Connectivity Options:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS while not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches to disable these options
- Tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing
- Disable Mobile Hotspot and return to Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving
Temporarily Switch to 2G:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you want to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G networks. To do this:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Mobile data
- Tap Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery performance even when they are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Disable
- Alternatively, to remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus its recommended to keep your phones OS updated. To check if new updates are available:
- Open Settings and scroll to Phone
- Tap About
- Tap Software information
- Press Check now and, if applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply available updates
