Enable Power Saver Mode:
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Tap Power under Personal
- Tap Power saver and check the boxes associate with the power saving options you want to turn on while Power Saver Mode is active
- Tap the switch to enable Power saver
Disable Unused Connectivity Options:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings
- Tap the switches associated with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to disable these features
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile network sharing and disable Mobile Hotspot
- For GPS options, go back to Settings and tap Location
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving
Use 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you want to conserve battery life until the next recharge, you can do so by temporarily switching to 2G networks. To do this:
- Access Settings
- Tap Mobile data > Network mode
- Turn on GSM only
Reduce Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level and disable Automatic brightness if necessary
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Go back to Display & Gestures
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower timeout value such as 15 or 30 seconds
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes, and as such they can affect battery life even when they are not in use. By disabling or uninstalling unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Tap Apps under Phone
- Go to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Disable to turn the app off
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By setting your apps / accounts to sync less data, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to and tap Accounts & Sync
- Tap an application to disable background sync
- For more sync options you can select an account type and account
Keep the Software Up To Date:
NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, and as such its recommended to keep your phones operating system up to date at all times. To verify if new updates are available for download:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap About
- Tap Software information
- Tap Check now and if applicable, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply new updates
