Updating the Firmware

You can update your firmware package to the latest available update for your device via an over-the-air connection.
Updating your firmware may erase all the user data found on your smartphone so it’s highly recommended to perform a back-up before you attempt to update it.

To back-up your smartphone, take a look at the following steps:

1. Press the Home key and tap the Menu icon.
2. Then select System settings -> tap Accounts & sync.
3. Tap the account that you’d like to back-up.
4. Then press the Menu icon and select Sync now.
Note: As an additional precaution, it’s recommended to remove the microSD card from your smartphone before you start the update process.

Updating the Firmware of Your Smartohone

1. Press the Home key and then tap the Menu icon.
2. Select System settings -> System update and tap Update firmware.
3. Your device will them automatically search for the latest firmware available for it and it – then it will automatically download the firmware and install all the updates.
4. You may be required to turn your smartphone off and on again to complete the update.

Check the Current Firmware

1. Press the Home key and select the Menu icon.
2. Then tap System settings -> tap About phone.
3. Scroll down and you will see the version number.

Updating the Kyocera Software

By updating your Kyocera software you will have the latest Android OS as well as the device firmware via an OTA (over-the-air) connection.
Before you proceed with the update, make sure you back up your information. To do so, follow the previous steps.

Updating the Kyocera Software:
1. Press the Home key and tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap System settings -> tap System update -> Tap update Kyocera software.
3. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

Reinstall Your Google Apps

Your Google apps will be removed after the update, but you can later reinstall them.

1. Log into your Google account.
2. Press the Home key -> tap Apps -> select Google Store.
3. Then press the Menu icon and select My Apps.
4. Check out the list of previously downloaded apps and choose the ones that you’d like to reinstall.
5. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

Updating Your Profile

By using this option, you can automatically update your online profile.

1. Press the Home key and tap the Menu icon.
2. Then select System settings -> tap System update -> tap Update profile.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
