I just switched from a Nokia to an LG C2000. On the Nokia there were two ways to put a pause in a contact number: (1) insert a <P> for a 2-second pause; (2) insert a <W> for a "hard" pause, that waits until you press <Send> to send the remaining digits. The latter was great for office voice mail systems, etc.

The C2000 user manual provides no information on pauses or waits. I found this FAQ on the LG web site that describes inserting <P> for a 2-second pause. But nothing about a "hard" pause. Any way to do this?

Second question: Holding down the <0> key when entering a phone number inserts a <+> in the number. What does this do?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Bad news - C2000 does not do hard pause

I just received this from LG customer service in response to an email I sent last night. I was impressed by the promptness of the response, even though I don't like the answer.

Thank you for inquiring of LG Electronics.

Unfortunately, our GSM model products do not have a hardpause feature. Inserting a "+" is simply protocol for your service provider's network in relation to your voicemail and other network settings where information has to be retrieved or sent. I suggest putting a total of three "P's" that equals six seconds before entering your password. This may work better for you. For additional assistance, please contact your service provider.

Thank you again for inquiring of LG Electronics.

I know this was a really old post. But did you ever find an answer to this? The Links on the LG website don't work anymore. For me, the <P> would work great, but I can't find any instruction on how to insert them. I've been researhing for about 4.5 hours.

    Thanks so very much!

To insert a pause in a contact phone number, hold down the <#> key for a few seconds. Note that you can see a small "P" on this key beside the # symbol.

    wow, old post!

for what it's worth, I found this in the manual (I have a C900 with a sliding keyboard so the # didn't help). So... when in doubt... read the manual...

Is it possible to use W(Wait) & P(Pause) option, when saving phone number to contacts?
Yes, it’s possible. But it's supported using the hardware keyboard only. it's not supported for the on-screen keyboard.
