WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the phone's internal memory, including custom ringtones, apps, downloaded content, contacts, images and more. However, data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before proceeding, you may want to back up the data on your smartphone. Visit this thread to learn how to back up data, and check out this thread to learn how to restore data on the LG G3 Stylus.

    Master Resetting via Settings Menu:

    1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings" and swipe to "General"
    3. Tap "Backup & reset" and mark the check boxes next to "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"
    4. If necessary, tap "Backup account" and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Google backup account
    5. Tap "Factory data reset"
    6. At the warning message, review the information and mark or clear the "Erase SD card" check box (WARNING! Checking this option will format the SD card too, resulting in the deletion of all data stored on the SD card / external storage)
    7. Tap "Reset phone"
    8. Touch "Erase everything" to confirm, and press "OK"

    Master Resetting via Hardware Keys:

NOTE: In case your smartphone freezes, crashes or prevents you from resetting it via the Settings menu, then you can still perform a factory reset via a combination of hardware keys that give access to the recovery menu. Use this method assuming that you are unable to reset your smartphone via settings.

    1. Turn off the LG G3 Stylus
    2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume down" buttons at the same time
    3. At the "LG" logo, release the Power key and re-hold it immediately. Make sure the "Volume down" key is pressed constantly
    4. At the "Factory data reset" screen, release the "Volume down" button
    5. Press "Volume down" to highlight "Yes", and press "Power" to confirm
    6. The "Erase all user data and restore default settings" screen will appear
    7. Use" Volume Down" to highlight "Yes", and press "Power" to select the option and confirm
    8. Wait for your smartphone to restart. It should now be factory reset

    Update the Android OS:

NOTE: After you master reset your smartphone, all previous software updates will also be lost, and all settings will be returned to factory values. With that being said, it's recommended that you check for software updates immediately after the factory reset has been applied. To do so:

    1. Ensure that your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
    2. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
    3. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "System"
    4. Tap "About phone" > "Update center"
    5. Tap "System updates" > "Check now"
    6. If applicable, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply the available software updates
