Hello. My LG-A341 flip phone will charge ok using the supplied wall charger or USB port on a computer. It will no longer however (using the same mini USB cable) charge from a 12V to 5V USB car charger or other 5V USB power device. Again, it will charge from a computer USB port. Are there two circuits involved here with one being damaged? Is there a way to get around this? Thank you. R.

    Hello,

If you are certain your car charger works perfectly, then the phone's power management unit might be damaged. Assuming that's the case, I don't think there's a workaround except for repairing it (if possible).

However I'd also try a different USB cable. Maybe the one you're using shorts out occasionally. Bottom line: just make sure you "eliminate" any other component by making sure they work properly. If everything works fine then the problem might be with the phone itself (PMU).

Hello Dustenrust. Thank you so much for your reply. It would appear that the fault lies within the phone as I've tried other car chargers that are known to be good. Interesting that it will charge from a computer USB port. I can't always lug a laptop with me in the car so I'll have to make sure the phone is charged and perhaps get a 2nd battery.
    Thanks again! Cheers, Richard.

Might as well secure a separate car charger that is specific for your car, that way, you won't damage the other..
