NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up data, contacts, and media files on the LG X Skin.

Restore App Data:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Switch to the “General” tab and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Under “LG Backup”, tap “Restore from backup”
  5. Select the backup file you want to restore and tap “Start”
  6. When prompted with “Restored”, tap “Done”

NOTE: You may have to restart the phone to complete the restore.

Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Tap “Restore from backup” under “LG Backup”
  5. Locate and select the SD card backup you want to restore
  6. Tap “Start”
  7. At the “Restored” prompt, tap “Done”

NOTE: You may have to reboot your phone to complete the process.

Restore Media Files Using Your Phone:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Tap “Restore from backup”
  5. Locate and select the media backup files you wish to restore, then tap “Start”
  6. When prompted with “Restore completed”, tap “Restart”

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the LG X Skin to your computer via USB
  2. When prompted, turn on “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files, or the desired “.sbf” backup file you want to restore
  5. Copy the files and transfer them back on the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
