Having trouble with your cell phone not saving files to the SD card? It's a known issue with the RAZR M and Verizon won't make good! If you have this issue or know of someone that does go here gotyourbackarkansas.gov to file a complaint with the Attorney General in AR. If you live elsewhere, call the Attorney General for your state. They don't like the consumer being treated wrong by businesses and the consumer protection division will act on the complaint!

Have you tried a different card in the phone? Was the card formatted in the phone? Is it inserted properly?

There's a lot of things that can go wrong, unfortunately. I would check all of those things before I go complaining to my attorney general.

Re: RAZR M won't save files to MicroSD card and provider won't exchange the device?

Sir, I have exhausted all options with every level of tech support and was told by Motorola that there is a glitch in the storage settings that the option "manage device storage" you are told to go to in the manual for external storage selection (SDcard) in most cases, DOES NOT EXIST! Instead of recalling the phones, or offering a software update or anything to solve this problem, they just keep selling the phones and letting people deal with the problem. In most cases, like they tried with me, they tell you to go to Google Play and find the app for moving files manually that works best for you. I'm sorry but that is not acceptable to me when I just bought a new phone! I went through people all the way to tier 3 customer support that had the authority to solve the problem by letting me exchange the faulty phone for a different brand of equal value and they refused. The Attorney General is there to help the consumer and protect the consumer from being taken advantage of, ripped off or however you would like to categorize it. There are massive amounts of posts and threads all over the Internet from people having the problem with their phone I am talking about. Google it and see for yourself. Verizon even has multiple threads on their own forum! I ended up complaining about it and refusing to accept the problem enough that the manager at a Verizon store that had already offered to give me a different phone and was told not to by his superiors, went ahead and did it anyway because he thinks it is wrong the way people are being treated over this problem.

I see, so it's not that phone will not save files to the SD card, but that the option to move file from the internal storage to the sd card is no longer there.

I assume this is one of the other threads you are referring to: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/1006803

One of the members did offer this solution:
    1. Hit your menu button on your home screen.
    2. Then hit the button/icon that says Files.
    3. Next, Device storage, which is on the top on mine.
    4. Find your pictures and hold your selection down till in is highlighted. Mine said "Pictures" and had hundreds of items, compared to the other files.
    5. You will find a icon (of six to choose from) along the bottom. It's the third from the left, a box with an arrow pointing to the right in it. Select it. It should then flash "locate a destination".
6.Choose the "1 selected" on top, next to the "file" looking icon.
    7. Then pick "SD card"
    8. Then on the upper right hand corner touch move.

    have you tried something similar?

I'm sorry, though, I don't believe complaining to your attorney general is the right course of action. You should complain to Verizon and demand a new/different phone though.
