Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Go to Settings
- Swipe to Device and tap Battery
- Tap menu and enable Battery saver
Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Access the Settings menu
- Swipe to Device and tap Display
- Disable Adaptive brightness if necessary
- Tap Brightness level and drag the slider towards the left
- From the Display menu, tap Sleep
- Choose a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:
NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling the phones connectivity features.
- Drag the Notification bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location (GPS) tiles to disable these features
- To change how GPS works, go to Settings > Location > Mode and select Battery saving
- To disable Hotspot, tap More under Wireless & Networks" in the Settings menu
- Tap Tethering & mobile hotspot and turn off the switch associated with the feature
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by setting your accounts to sync less data.
- Launch the apps drawer
- Open Settings
- Under Personal, tap Accounts
- Select an account type
- Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable
Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:
NOTE: Some of the third party applications installed on your phone can affect your phones battery performance even when you dont use them. These apps perform regular processes in the background, so technically you can improve battery life by disabling or removing these applications.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab
- Select the desired app and tap Force stop to disable the app
- If you want to remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Wireless & networks and tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Select 2G
