Re: New Nextel Phones and i880 Question?
There is a picture of a new phone in this thread http://cellphoneforums.net/nextel/t2...ming-soon.html above. It seems that since iden is supposedly going to die by 2008 there are no "NEW" phones that are going to be released. Since sprint sucks it just might mean switching to another carrier. What a pain!

Re: New Nextel Phones and i880 Question?
OK, after looking at these phones and seeing that there is nothing really good coming I have one question that may have been asked before. Why do we not have a blackberry perl available on nextel when cingular has it with the ptt feature? I just set up my friensds perl yesterday and it is great with the ptt feature. What gives?

Re: New Nextel Phones and i880 Question?
cingulars PTT is different technology than Nextel. Rim is not going to release another nextel specific blackberry. there is talk of a new blackberry for sprint nextel the end of this year which will be all CDMA with QChat so the PTT will be compatible with both sprint and nextel ptt systems.
as far as new phones, three of the four phones in the link above have already been release with only the ic902 left to be released. this is going to be a nice more feature rich version of the ic502. other than that, sprint is looking to move people to the CDMA network as it is much more efficient and capible of a much larger number of users. so with the implementation of QChat, this will be the substitute to DC and give the hard core nextel users the speed the demand.
