    Via a Google Account:

NOTE: Using a Google account you can sync the contacts stored on your older Samsung device, and then re-sync the account data with the Galaxy S5 Neo.

    1. Open the “Contacts” app on the sender Samsung device
    2. Tap the “Contacts” tab if necessary
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Merge accounts” > “Merge with Google”
    4. Tap “OK” and if necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to sign in with your Google account
    5. Switch to the S5 Neo and register the same Google account on it
    6. Allow the account to sync contacts with the Neo

    Using the “Contacts” App:

NOTE: You can use the “Contacts” application on both devices to export and import contacts from one handset to another.

    1. Open the “Contacts” app on the sender Samsung device
    2. From the “Contacts” tab, tap “menu” > “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
    4. Tap “Export to SD card” > “OK” (remember the file name and location)
    5. Launch the email client and compose a new email
    6. Attach the exported vCard file to the email and send it to your own address
    7. Switch to the Galaxy S5 Neo and download the attached file
    8. Import the file’s contents to your using the “Contacts” application

NOTE: Alternatively, after creating the vCard file on the older Samsung device, you can connect both smartphones to your computer and manually transfer the file to the S5 Neo. Then you can use the “Contacts” app and use the “Import” function

    Using the “Smart Switch App”:

NOTE: You can use the official Samsung Smart Switch app to transfer your contacts. To do so:

    1. Go to the Google Play Store and install the “Smart Switch” app on both handsets
    2. Open the application on both devices
    3. Tap “Android device” on both
    4. On the sender device, tap “Sending device”
    5. On the S5 Neo, tap “Receiving device”
    6. Tap “Connect” on the older Samsung smartphone and select “Contacts”
    7. Tap “Send”
    8. On the S5 Neo, tap “OK” to receive the contacts

NOTE: Keep both smartphones in close proximity to each other to ensure the transfer works without problems.

    Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is a third party application that can be used to transfer contacts via a P2P connection without the need of a computer.

    1. Install “Send Anywhere” on both smartphones, via the Google Play Store
    2. Launch the app on both handsets
    3. Tap “Send” on the sender device
    4. Tap “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
    5. Tap “Send” and select a transfer method. You can tap “Generate QR Code” on the older Samsung terminal and scan the code with the S5 Neo’s camera, or you can tap “Receive” on the Neo and enter the transfer code manually

Re: Transfer Contacts from an Older Samsung device to the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo

I happen to know an android data backup app works great, you can use it to transfer data between samsung and computer in few steps, and it could transfer contacts, sms, photos, etc. You can connect your two phones to computer separately to transfer data between them.
