Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Power saving mode” switch to “ON”
  5. Tap “Start power saving” and choose a battery percentage at which Power Saving mode should enable automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Enable “Ultra power saving mode” and tap “Agree”
  5. To add more apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap “+”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Display” > “Automatic brightness”
  4. If necessary, disable automatic brightness
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  6. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity features you want to disable and set them “OFF”

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery life and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap “More connection settings” > “Mobile networks”
  5. Tap “Network mode” and select “GSM only”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can affect battery life even when they are unused due to the fact that some applications perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  4. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded”
  5. Select the desired application and tap “Turn off” / “Disable”
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm

Disable Background Data:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Connections”, tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: To increase battery life in the long run you can reduce the amount of data being synced by your accounts and / or applications.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  4. Select an account and clear or the check boxes associated with the sync settings you want to turn off
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to apply the changes
