Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Tap the Power saving mode switch to ON
- Tap Start power saving and choose a battery percentage at which Power Saving mode should enable automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Enable Ultra power saving mode and tap Agree
- To add more apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap +
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Display > Automatic brightness
- If necessary, disable automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associated with the connectivity features you want to disable and set them OFF
Switch to 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery life and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap More connection settings > Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and select GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps can affect battery life even when they are unused due to the fact that some applications perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired application and tap Turn off / Disable
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall two times to confirm
Disable Background Data:
- Go to Settings
- Under Connections, tap Data usage
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Tap OK
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: To increase battery life in the long run you can reduce the amount of data being synced by your accounts and / or applications.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts and select the desired account type
- Select an account and clear or the check boxes associated with the sync settings you want to turn off
- Tap Menu > Sync now to apply the changes
