Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Express 3 to your PC via USB
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “notification” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Locate the desired audio files on the PC and copy them
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” folders
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Head down to Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Galaxy Express 3 to your Mac via USB
  5. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” or enable the option in the “notification” area
  6. Open Kies on the Mac
  7. In Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “External memory” or “Internal memory”
  8. Launch the file finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
  9. Drag the files and drop them in Kies
  10. Once the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “trash can” to eject it
  11. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Sounds & notifications”
  4. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  5. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
  6. Select “Sound picker” and choose if you want to use the option “Always” or “Just once”
  7. Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list and tap “Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Device” tap “Sounds & notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones & sound”
  4. Tap “Ringtone”
  5. Select a ringtone from the list and tap “Back” to apply the changes

Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or internal memory.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  5. Tap “Save” to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sounds & Notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and Sounds”
  4. Select a notification type and then select the desired notification sound
  5. Tap “Back” to apply the changes
