Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Turn on Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MPT) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones / Notification directories
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac and head down to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung device to your Mac via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the Folder icon associated with External memory or Internal memory
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the Mac storage
- Drag and drop the files in Kies to begin the transfer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Sounds and ringtones
- Tap Ringtones and sounds > Ringtone
- Tap Add ringtone and select Sound picker
- Choose to use the sound picker Always or Just once
- Select the desired audio files and tap Done
Change the General Ringtone:
- Launch settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Sounds and notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtone and sounds
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Press Back to confirm
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the SIM card or the devices internal memory.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Sound & notifications
- Tap Ringtones and sound under Sounds
- Select the notification type and the desired notification sound to use
- Tap Back to confirm
