I have same problem with a920 phone ... however I found that my subscriber not samsung has blocked me from downloading my own tunes and making them ringtones - they want me to downlowd ringtones from their own website - not!
Is there a way to get around this .. it tells me to download my music into the Media Player but the option to set as ringtone has been disabled .... any way around this???

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone
I have a way to put ringtones on your phone WITHOUT using the internet!
there is a program that is $5 that is a bluetooth program called bluesoleil go to bluesoleil.com to get it (it hase remote sharing) (if you already have a softwear that has remote sharing, your in good shape) anyways when you open up the remote sharing find AUDIO and copy the file to there (i sugest you cut out everything but the chous, or the file will take -4-ever to transfer. Then go to your phone find the file then APPLY AS... ringtone (or sumtin similar)

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone
This method works for the t509 so you don't have to listen to those twngy MMF tones!!!!
To make ringtones for t 509
Choose song edit down to 25 secs i use wave pad, save as MP3 open in quicktime hit file down to export i use 3GPP settings it works fine. Hit options button 3GPP next audio next AAC-LC (music) now i set the data rate at 160 it worked output 48k channels stereo encoding best frames setting not nessesary. Put in Bluetooth exchange folder your adapter software should have created one when installed, go to bluetooth on phone my devices connect find file in folder select get, then find file in filemanager/sounds set as ringtone. My wife has the same phone it works great..

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone
i have tried it all. audicity phone uploader and everything else i could search online. i give up. seems like tis more trouble than its worth. i love my phone and would love to have ringtones but looks like i have to get a 2nd job just to buy them. or maybe another phone. i can use mxyertones.com but the ringtone is only about 3 seconds long no matter what i do. has anyone used that site?

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone
Misscuetee,
Don't despair. I got help from another forum. First, you must already have some sort of music editor. I use Flexiwave Music Editor. That way you can find sound clips and songs from any source (i.e. CDs, online, friends) and choose how long and what part of the source you want as a ringtone. In general, the clip needs to be around 18 seconds long or shorter. Then make sure you save the clip as an mp3 yet make sure the file has the same structure as the following example: manah1.mid. Now, you need to get Winamp. Don't worry, it's freeware. Open the mp3 file and then open the playlist editor and view file info. You should see two sections. Both are IDtag editors for V1 and V2. Both sides need to be activated/clicked and make sure you save changes.
You should now have an mp3 file (using my example) named manah1.mid Now go ahead and email that mp3 file to yourself and when you get it, it should remain as an mp3. Once you save the sound, you should be able to set it as a ringtone, alert, or Contact ID. Good luck. Back in business. hell yeah.
Peace
@_*
P.S. Mad props to Brianster. Your post was the one that finally got me adding ringtones in Dec '06. I just got lazy with doing the IDtags cuz most of the time, the mp3 would work without me having to do all that extra stuff. Now it looks like all that IDtag stuff needs to be done now. (which you advised in July '06 to do).Last edited by daedolos; 06-06-2007 at 01:46 AM.

Does anybody know how to put mp3 ringtones on a Samsung SCH A870 phone? The uploader didn't work. When I tried to download the jump file it said "unsupported content type"...

Re: How to > Put mp3's as ringtones on your phone
FNG here.
I am a dummy to this sort of stuff but found this to be easy.
Once the MP3 is loaded onto my laptop,,I use this service to shrink the mp3 to like 30 seconds.
Mobile17 ^^ :: Create Ringtones and Graphics: online, for free!
This company will even send it to your cell phone.VEry easy to use.
I use a blue tooth adapter to sync it to my samsung SYNC phone.

It was a little tricky at first. You had to make sure the phone setting were open to bluetooth,,then you had to open the music fine on the phone to accept bluetooth. That may be where your running into a block.Just keep playing with it.
