Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly

The battery suddenly just went dead again yesterday. So now I know that it is not the battery and it must be the phone itself . I am off to the store to get the phone sent back to Samsung for repair.

Here's the latest 411 on the phone. The store claims that the battery depletes because I have the phone on stand-by instead of turning it off. I am now going to leave the phone off and see if the battery depletes or not . The explanation sounds plausible to me and now I will hold off on sending it out for repair.

The battery will slowly drain when the screen is off, but it shouldn't drain that quickly. I can have my Android phone on for 24 hours before the battery needs to be charged again. I would think your phone would last even longer, especially since it's just a flip phone.

It took 5 days to go from fully charged to empty in stand-by mode . I'll leave it turned off and see how long it lasts .

That's not too bad. I've used phones that last longer, but five days isn't really that bad.

    I solved my problem

I was complaining a while back how quickly the battery depleted in my Samsung C414 , well I don't have a problem any longer. I bought a LG A341 phone and the battery in this phone depletes very slowly.

I'm glad you were able to find a phone that has better battery life.

What else do you like about your new phone (other than the battery life)?

I can't really think of anything else that is better with this phone. Unfortunately there is something that is worse with this phone , the camera. The lens is placed too low on the case and if one is not careful their finger could end up in the picture. This phone also does not have a camera button on the side of the case like the Samsung phone has. Actually the Samsung C414 is a good phone except for the fact that it needs to be recharged constantly. It would also have been nice if they could have preloaded the phone (LG A341) with a few games

That's too bad that your other phone didn't have decent battery life, since you were happier with it. Maybe you can download some games for your new phone, depending on if it is Java or BREW, some games might be available for download.

Also this new phone has a music player but I don't know how to get music on it ? I think that the problem is that the service provider I use (Speak-Out) doesn't have downloadable apps ( games, music ) like Telus does . With Telus I could buy these things and it went straight into the phone via the cell phone service.
