Restoring Applications:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Open "Settings"
  3. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Tap "Backup account" and select the account on which the backup was initially created. NOTE: Tap "Add account" if necessary, and follow the on-screen steps to add the backup account to your phone
  5. Mark the check box associated with "Automatic Restore"

Restoring Contacts:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Backup & restore"
  3. Tap "Restore data now" and mark the "Contacts" check box
  4. Tap "Continue"
  5. When the process is done, press "Finish"

Restoring Media Files

From the Smartphone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Launch "File Commander" and tap "SD Card"
  3. Locate the files you wish to restore
  4. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired items
  5. Tap the "Copy" button located in the upper side of the display
  6. Go back to the File Commander's main menu
  7. Tap "Internal storage" and select the folder you wish to restore the files in
  8. Tap the icon showing a notepad and a pencil, and tap "Paste"

Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Z3 Compact and PC
  2. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone's files
  3. Go to the phone's "Internal Storage" directory
  4. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your computer
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on your phone's internal memory
  6. After the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
  7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
  8. You can now disconnect your smartphone from the computer
