Sprint has finally announced the release of their HTC Touch Pro2 but with a price.
This September, 8th to be exact, the HTC Touch Pro2 with Windows Mobile 6.1 will be available for purchase on a 2 year contract for $349.99 after a mail in rebate.
If you're keeping tabs, The Touch Pro is $50 less and this HTC Touch Pro2 is about $150 over the price of most new smartphones in the US, including the Palm Pre and AT&T's iPhone 3GS 16GB.
The features of the Touch Pro2 are: a 3.6 inches WVGA touchscreen display, full QWERTY keyboard, 3G (EVDO Rev. A), Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 3.2MP camera, and microSD card support.

Wow, that is expensive. I'll wait until the price drops.

Re: Sprint gets the HTC Touch Pro2...and expensive
I heard a rumor on ppcgeeks that they are going to price match verizon's $199 price on 10/1 (for new and upgrades). Unverified of course, but the rumor is spreading strong and supposedly some people are already getting matched and even getting back credited for already purchased phones that are w/in the 30 day period.

Re: Sprint gets the HTC Touch Pro2...and expensive
I ordered one TP2 last night and got the $199 match price by saying I was leaving for Verizon. I called account services. I have been with sprint for 10+yrs btw and I have 2 lines, am NOT a corporate account (some forums are saying you need a corporate account to get the match price), and pay $95 a mo for 3000 mins (share 3 phones) unlim data, text, etc. nights and weekends 7pm. free roaming.
I did have to call twice to get the price- 1st person shot me down and said - we don't do that.
2nd time was instant, yes we appreciate your loyalty and would like to give you the phone for the $199 price to keep you as a sprint customer- no hassle, no transfer to retentions. just instant price match.
