I just bought a Motorola V80 which is unlocked. I put my T-mobile SIM card into the new phone and I can't get T-Mobile service. However, I do get Cingular service. So as of now I can make calls through Cingular, but this obviously means I am roaming and that is expensive... I need to get this phone connecting directly to T-Mobile, but I dont know what to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

With a t-mobile sim card, if you are getting cingular service, you should call t-mobile and find out. What is the plan you have? if it has 'no roaming nationwide' then you may be ok. Sometimes roaming is allowed only on -t-mobile network. Check what your plan includes. I have used my phone when it showed other service providers but was not charged roaming since I have a national plan - no roaming or long distance anywhere in the USA.

Thanks. I called and confirmed that I am not roaming. Problem solved.
