T-Mobile Unlocked Iphone 4

I have a factory unlocked Iphone 4 and I want to use it on my T mobile plan I already had. Now the phone i was using before took normal sized SIM cards so I took it to the T Mobile store to transfer my number and plan to a micro sim.

They told me they couldn't do that but could instead transfer it into the Iphone. I told them I'd rather have the data on a micro sim but because they couldn't do that, they gave me a blank micro sim. The guy did something and told me it should be working in 1-2 hours.

However, whenever I take the micro sim card out, it says "No Sim" and when it's in, it says "No Service"

Can anyone help?
