Hey,
I have a cellphone through cingular and it still has about 1 year left on the contract, can I buy the blackberry pearl and put the SIM card from my old phone into the pearl, will it work correctly? I am going to get the pearl if I can do this im really exited! I have been looking around and my choices were the cingular 8125 or the blackberry pearl, what does everyone think is best? Im 15 and I basically want it for texting, callings, games, pictues and games, no internet its to expensive. Can I connect to the wireless internet in my house is my last questions, thanks!

Re: BlackBerry Pearl Questions
Yes, you just pop your cingular sim into the phone and it will work for voice and text. Anything more you need a data plan for. The same goes for the 8125, with several notable exceptions.
The main advantage to the pearl is Blackberry email, which requires a data plan specifically for blackberries. The pearl is a nice phone, but I don't think it will do what you want it for, and it does not have wifi.
The 8125 has wifi, and that means that you can access the internet with it at
wifi hotspots without a data plan. And wifi is free if you find a free hotspot.
If you are going to send pictures with the phone, then you need a data plan.
Sending pictures, known as mms, requires a data plan. You should be able to email them over wifi, but I have not tested that.
In my opinion, the 8125 is more the phone for you.

Re: BlackBerry Pearl Questions
Thanks for the reply, are wifi hotspots easy to find? Do you need a wireless box (cause we have one) ? So if I would go with the Cingular 8125 and just put my sim card in it i have now I could go on the on the internet for free and have no charges? Is the internet fast? Sorry about all the questions

Re: BlackBerry Pearl Questions
Yes, wifi hotspots are easy to find, just google for them. You will find websites devoted to listing them by city. And no, you do not need to take your wifi router with you. You do need it to use at home.
Wifi is fast, faster than edge, and chances are as fast as 3g on your phone.
For more questions about the 8125 you may want to go to the htc area of this forum. The 8125 is a Cingular branded HTC Wizard.
