Blackberry Pearl + Verizon Dumb question

I was just going through phones and was wondering if there is an extra fee with the blackberry pearl if I decide to use it to replace my chocolate. Its definitely at the top of my list right now but I can't get it if its too much per month. I will only be using it to call and text.

With a Blackberry you have to keep the data package on your account. It will cost you $29.99 per month on top of your voice package. Blackberry's are nice, but if you don't do business or don't really get a ton of emails, they are overkill. If you get a windows or palm based pda then you don't need to put the data package on, but you wouldn't want to use data at all. The data packages on those are $44.99 per month. One advantage is Blackberrys push the emails right to your device, where the PDA's have to be set to go out and retrieve your emails. You can do instant push, but thats more for business people again.

Can someone post how fast their Verizon Pearl 8130 transfer files from PC to phone?

ie: ?MB/s or the amount of time it takes to transfer a certain file size.

I'll have to check later tonight m/b's wise for you. But what type of files are we talking about? For me, most pictures I will send back and forth and that only takes maybe 30secs. Files range in k/b's for me though. Lol.

lol, any file type or size is fine, i dont think the rate change much depending the type of files. Just do drag and drop in mass storage mode.

to calculate the rate kbps. file size divide by time.
