I'm taking off my blackberry PDA plan (I found I don't use the internet, just texting a lot), and to stop unwanted charges, I deleted the blackberry messenger. Now I'm receiving weird texts from 1111470500 all saying
    "WVCI 1.1 1234567"
I'm not sure why I'm getting them, but I get one about every 5-10 min. I really want to stop it. Does anybody know how to do this?

After a google search on you text message problem (remembered seeing it somewhere else), the fix seems to be, go into all of your IM apps and sign out of them properly. If you deleted any of them, re-installed them sign in and sign out, then delete them if you don't plan on using them again.

If your cell carrier is AT&T or T-Mobile and you delete the OZIM application, you need to re-install it. Also if you were using a data plan, and had been using any of the IM apps and you did not log out of, properly, the OZIM app will keep trying to find you, thinking that you are still logged in to the IM client(s), to send any text messages to you, or to ping you (that I'm available part of the IM apps).

I'm not sure why you would kill the Blackberry Messenger... I thought that was free and a pretty decent messaging system. I guess only if you have other friends who use a Blackberry, which I find rare, but I love the application.

A lot of people, wanting to have as much memory as possible for apps they want and for running them, will delete all apps and themes, music and ringtones that they do not use or have any need for.

I doing so, sometimes they delete things that shouldn't be deleted. In the case of internet programs on Blakberries, some, if not closed (exied out properly), will still be logged in (as far as the blackberry is concerned), and you can still get messages, alerts and emails being sent to that BB.

PIN messages sent to the BB messenger are to that BB and that BB only
and it's not uncommon for people buying second hand BBs to still be getting messages sent to them from people that know the PIN for that BB, not knowing the original owner no longer has it.

So to fix the problem I'm guessing he would have to reinstall everyrhing through download manager and properly exit out of everything?
