The
BlackBerry 8830 (
CDMA)/
8820 (
GSM) has a good battery life - I have the
GSM model and generally need to charge it every other day with regular use. Heavy use requires charging by the end of the day. I would define heavy use as pretty much calling all day, using the internet between those calls with wifi and/or bluetooth throughout.
That said, I would hold off on purchasing the
8800-series phone in favor of a
3G-enabled phone. The
BlackBerry Storm 2, rumored to be released before 2010, is the
CDMA touchscreen phone with wifi, gps & bluetooth. The
BlackBerry Bold is the
GSM non-touchscreen phone with wifi, gps & bluetooth. Both are
3G-enabled, which is a great improvement over the 1X/
EDGE (pre-
3G) technology.
Peace,
