Re: blackberry

The primary reason to own a BlackBerry is immediate access to e-mail. RIM's 'push' technology brings e-mail straight to the phone as soon as it is received. Normal smartphones use a 'poll' method, which is basically calling up an e-mail server to see if there are new messages. If you receive a message in between check-in times, you have to wait for your phone to call in again.

Other features that are attractive are the BlackBerry's ability to be completely customized, from behavior to appearance, which buttons do what and so on. You can tweak to your heart's desire.

Peace,
Father M.

The email is a big thing. Also the ability to read and write most Microsoft office programs.

The array of third party applications is another big plus too. There are literally thousands of program/applications that can be downloaded to your berry, and a lot are totally free unlike the IPhone which you have to pay for.

Re: why do you have a blackberry

Well I got mine for the email delivery, web surfing, and I wanted to get a golf gps app to help with distances to greens. Only mistake was I got mine through Verizon and they block the gps function unless I pay an extra $10 a month for VZ navigator.

Guess I'm getting a bluetooth gps reciever.

I use it for email, work diaries, Tweeting and My Tracks as a bike training aid.

I need to have access to my email and the web when I'm on the go.
Facebook and Twitter are nice too.

Re: why do you have a blackberry

Without a Blackberry, my business wouldn't run as quickly and as efficiently as it does. Since we believe in a high degree of customer satisfaction, it's important to contact our clients, readers etc back as soon as possible.

E-mails are KEY for Blackberry. No other phone/service will provide e-mails instantaneously for you like RIM does.
