Blackberry Bold battery dies very quickly, what can i do

I just got a BlackBerry 9000 Bold Just one week ago and i thought the battery was dying fast because i use msn and the internet lots, but it wasnt that. I diddnt charge it fully when i got it could that be it? can i fix it? It needs to be charged often after a few hours. Did I ruin the battery?

Here are the thing you can do,

try updating your operating system 282 or above. you can download from rim.com

If you are not using the 3G data , try switching to edge/2G

When you are charing your battery you will see a clock will come up and stays there.

on the same screen , press the menu key go to option, select the option , when charging>
select , Do nothing.

go to brightness settings, keep the brightness below 70.
