This week I went to lunch with a friend, and had my BlackBerry 9000 Bold in my purse, in the pocket, locked. It had been locked since the morning. During lunch I checked it, and it was still locked (witness verified) No calls were made. When I arrived home, I found my phone in order, still locked. I unlocked it (as you know takes a couple of steps, cannot be done accidentally), looked at the calls made list (hit the green phone icon) and there was a call listed. It was supposed to have been made during the time the phone was locked, lasted for five minutes, and was done at a time I was busy eating lunch at a restaurant, and I know I didn't make it. I figured someone had hacked into my number and called ATT. they told me it was impossible, and said they couldn't do anything about it until the billing cycle closed and they would treat it as a billing dispute. (which means they will want me to pay for it) I also had jumped from under 200 text messages that month to 463. They had escalated the month before too. ATT is not helping me.

I called the phone number listed on a different phone. she looked at her phone and she never got a call from my number she stated. so here is a call, not made by me, but listed in my phone and billing online under current usage, and she had no record of it on her end.

ATT refuses to investigate this. The person I called said she had heard of this and a friend had it happen to her. She called it Ghost Calling. Has anyone out there heard of this or had experience with someone making calls through your phone while you KNOW no one could get to it, and it was locked?

I had a new SIM card put in last fall. I am taking the phone into a store to have it checked out. I may have to give up my number or get a new phone, I don't know.

Any thoughts, help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
C
