alright, i made my own mp3 site, although right now its still being "re-touched", but you should still be able to go to the site and download the 40+ ringtones i have on there. the site is geocities.com/dj_mystik2001
The only thing with the site is that the site looks nothing like griffzan's, its just a huge long list of mp3's all on one page, i'm still working on it, but it's up and tones are available for download.

Griff, one quick question, do you recommend i use the PageBuilder geocities provides, or should i just make the html file on my own using the html tags and stuff? I made an index.html file with the pagebuilder and for some reason it doesnt work when i go to the site with my phone, i figured i'd ask this here in case anyone has come up with this problem before, and for future site designers. Thanks!

If you use the page builder use "blank page" it save alot on space and also some phones my not load all the images. Your a630 should be able to load the page fine though. Also be sure to save your page as the index otherwise you'll get a message say that it's under construction or something like that. P.S. sorry about not getting you your ringtone as soon as I said, I had to do a little house hunting and my kids thought it was beat up Daddy day.

haha, it's alright, they beat you up for your slacking off with the tone, didnt they? haha, anyway, im going to try and make my index file again, im thinkin its cuz i put too many tones on one page, so i'll probably limit it to ten each page....i dunno, we'll see

alright, the site is fixed, the tones are split into sections, a-b, c-f, g-h, i-l, m-o, p-s, t-z by SONG TITLE. Let me know if it doesnt work on your phone, remember these are MP3 ringtones, not anything else!! More will be added, im just tryin to make sure you guys can all access this first!! PEACE!!!

Sorry if this has been covered (I'm coming late to the game and havent read all 5 pages of this thread). It looks to me like dbPowerAmp is a free trial, but it costs to register (not a lot, but still) - are there any freebies that will convert back and forth between mp3 and wav that work well for making ringtones?

To cut mp3's I use Audacity. Its totally awesome and free. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I don't know what the heck my problem was, but I was unable to get the ringtone to work using Griffzan's method. When I copied the tone to my phone, I could select it a a ringtone, but nothing would play. When I accessed it directly through MyMedia, or whatever Moto calls it, it told me it was corrupt.

What I was able to do was use iTunes (free download) and trim it down that way without converting it to WAV and back to MP3. If anyone is experiencing the same thing I did, you may want to give iTunes a shot: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

I did something like that on my v180, had to leave it as a .wav file. Downloaded it to my phone, but it stores it in the sounds folder (or whatever they want to call it) and I cant access it a ring tone.
