    Question Any good FREE software to sample MP3s and change the bitrate (for ringtones)?

    I got a bluetooth USB Adapter for my Motorola V3 phone and transferred a MP3 with success for a ringtone. But I need some good (hopefully FREE) software to convert the bitrate as well as let me select sections of the song for a ringtone.

    Any recommendations?

    Audacity is a good cut and paste editor. Easy to use with the lame mp3 codec for different bitrates.

    Thanks. My friend just showed me Audacity and it looks like it might be perfect for what I want to do.
