support for this method is very limited nowadays since verizon has altered the firmware on the phones to prevent this from happening. There is a file in the phone called arcconfig.ini . On the newer firmare phones, this file sets the location of recorded audio, EMS audio, and
MMS audio. There is a
brew protected file on the phone that sets the ringtone folder. This file *on the newer firmware phones* sets all of those locations to different areas of the phone. the ringtone database file (MyToneDB.db) will only index the files that are stored in the folder path set by the
brew protected file. therefore, no setting recorded audio as a ringtone, no setting downloaded audio as a ringtone, no setting
mms audio as a ringtone. Just wont work unless you know the actual ringtone root and you alter the arcconfig.ini file to set those paths for recorded audio, EMS audio, and
MMS audio to all point to the same location where your ringtones reside. I've done this for newer firmware razr v3* phones (which also works with the krazr phones). Wanna know how? just ask me for the link to my guide. I cant guarantee you will be able to overwrite this file on your own phone unless USB transfers are enabled on it (either by default or through a seem edit)
