Why is this phone already out for Rogers? It didn't stay for a long time.

    See More: Samsung e316

Rogers usually removes phone from their lineup to make room for new and better phones. You will see some new phones soon.

Ya, I still get people asking me about that phone. It was a good little phone, but Rogers is all about bringing out the newer and better phones. Odds are whatever phone you get it will be discontinued within a couple months.

Hey can any of you guys do a full backup via Optiflash, of the rogers e316 Firmware, as I have around 40 of them, and they are on the Unbranded firmware, but it gives the sim error crash with Fido Sims, and now that the noobs at Rogers decided to buy the same gem sims that fido had, they are crashing as well.

Let me know, as I am truely desperate.

This is SO TRUE. (about discontinued).

I just picke dup the X426 on clearance from RV 2 weeks ago, and was truly impressed by it's manufacturing. It is a nice solid BASIC phone. I WISH I could've found the E316 also at the same price but, not gonna happen.

With the cellular industry EXPLODING., and more importantly ROGERS frequency influx of new units., the lifetime is being cut drastically. Is that a good thing? who knows?

I say it's a good thing because we get new toys VERY SOON. It's a bad thing because what Rogers is ULTIMATELY doing is wetting the appetites of their client-base, the majority of whom will not be able to afford any discounts on doing hups, and so will in turn just cave and pay the premium for low tier hups. Hey from a business standpoint-it makes PERFECT sense.

E316 was a great phone., but just drop it and pick up a V3i. I mean it's only 200 on a 3yr. and it LIGHT YEARS ahead of the e316.
