| #1 | | Junior Member | hi. im going to buy a se w810 soon and i heard somewhere that using mp3s transfered from ur computer wont always work on the w810 as personal ringtones. and that only ringtones you download onto ur fone from rogers will work as personal ringtones. can someone please tell me if this is true? i heard that debranding it with some software helps solve this problem..but i dont want the debranding to void my warranty...
thx

#3 | | Newbie | ) Download DRM packager from Miscellaneous Docs and Tools
2) Convert song using the DRM packager
3) Upload it to the proper folder on your phone ( eg. J:\MSSEMC\Media files\audio
4) Unhook the phone from the cable
4) Click on the song, and "create ring tone"
5) You're done, enjoy, no need to flash phone !!! | | Did you find this post helpful?

i was wondering if u wanted to debrand n flash the phone.. how would you go about this?! cuz id rather just turn the lock off once and for all. | There are services like davinci and wotanserver. I used wotan. Something like $10 for one flash. But just like any other software update, you may do more flashes as the firmwares get better. So I'd suggest you bulk-buy a few flashes and save some for later or find other ppl who also want to do this. To flash, you need their client software (you download from them), your data cable and your fully charged phone. Before you start you need to purchase a flash credit from them. Also note: you need to be confident that your computer and power supply are stable. You should also read the instructions carefully and be certain you know what you're doing before you start. While the phone is being flashed is not a good time to improvise. hv fun. | | Did you find this post helpful?

thanks

Works great! Spent all night browsing through forums till I came across this. Saves me a flash. Worked with Sony W810i unlocked but branded to Rogers.
Also I found the instructions were a bit out of place. Upload the song to the phone first then open it with the DRM and create DRM content. It'll appear in a subfolder in the phone with a little lock icon, you will then be able to select it as a ringtone. Thanks again.
