Switching phones

I've been wondering if i am able to switch phones without terminating my current 3 year contract. I've heard that all I need to do is to transfer the SIM card to the new cellphone and voila. Is this true or do I have to wait it out?

That is the joy of GSM. Take your SIM card and put it in ANY GSM phone you want, ANY time you want! You don't have to wait until the end of your contract.

As long as the new phone is not locked to another provider, yes it will work.
