Well, here's an interesting piece of tidbit. As most of us know, carriers usually lock a phone for that certain carrier. In other words, you can't just throw in a SIM from a AT&T into a T-Mobile phone and expect it to work unless you have a Network Control Key that is giving to you by the carrier, which could be almost impossible to obtain. Well...apparently with the GSM Samsung Galaxy S and the T-Mobile Vibrant and AT&T Captivate, these unlock codes are already available inside the phone.

No more will you have to depend on sites to give you those codes that may or may not work. And even tho the unlock codes are found in the devices above, obtaining them is not that easy.

When you unlock your phone, you can also re-lock it when you decide to return the phone back to the carrier and there is no rooting required to get the phone to work. With the unlock codes, the T-Mobile Vibrant can be unlocked to where you can use it on AT&T and take advantage of the 3G.

This should work on all Samsung Galaxy S GSM versions as well as the international i9000 edition.
