Limited SMS characters on Samsung Galaxy S2

I love my Samsung S2 4G LTE except that my SMS is limited to only 80 characters. Everytime it exceeds the character limit, the message won't send. I checked on the SMS settings but there's nothing there to remedy the problem. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. limitation on the characters. When exceeds 140, he turns a mms.
and unfortunately the mms is not sent.
you have already solved your problem? If Yes can you help me???

what service are you using the phone on? Sometimes it depends on the provider and how they handle mms vs sms.

guys i already had found a remedy to this,. i also had the same issue with my S2 4g LTE before. wat i did was, using my BlackBerry fon (even iphone will do) edit your own SIM profile. save ur number then insert it back to ur s2 then save ur number on the phone's memory.

for BlackBerry OS 7: go to options> device> advance system settings>sim card(view and change simcard settings) click on the BlackBerry menu>edit sim phone number


after your done with this, insert ur sim back to s2 then save ur phone number on ur s2's fon memory,,,,

hope it works for you guys too.. by the way, im from the philippines.
