    hi.

I have a new Samsung Galaxy s3 and I would appreciate your help (already in love with it. had a blackberry till 2 days ago):
    1. are there options of saving text messages in a special folder?
    2. are there options of hiding the name and the first sentence of text message (I don't want people stnading next to me to peek)?
    3. if I want to search somthing in all the apps. (including contacts and diary) - how do i do it? it gives me just online and contact results with no meetings results.

    4. how can i start dial faster than going through the phone-contacts-dial the contact name?
    5. I want to delete a weather app, that I have downloaded to the locked screen, but now I cannot find it in the apps or anywhere.
it keeps showing me the weather while I do not use the phone but I want to delete it and am not able to find where from.

    thanks in advance.
    Shelly

Welcome to CellPhoneForums.net! If you'd like, you can post an introduction here: New Member Introductions - Cell Phone Forums

    1) You can download an application such as GoSMS that will backup your text messages. You can then transfer the file to your computer. You can restore the text messages at a later time if something happens to your phone.

    2) Go to your messages, and press the menu key. After that, select "Settings". You will see "Notification settings". Simply uncheck the notifications checkbox.

    3) If you type something in the Google search bar it should search for applications and contacts. As far as I know, you cannot search for something within an application, just the application name. If you don't have the search bar press and hold an open area of the homescreen and select "Widgets". Then, select "Google Search".

    4) On the Google Search bar, press the microphone button, and say "Call [Name Here]".

    5) That's most likely a widget. You can clear it off your homescreen by presssing and holding it, and dragging it to the trashcan that will appear.
